Flap your butterfly wings :D

Guerlain has launched its Limited Edition Midnight Butterfly Christmas Range for 2008, inspired by butterflies for their grace and beauty (hence the name). All of the products are lightly scented with violet. The range is light, feminine and versatile, with most of the products able to be used all hours of the day.

First up, we have the Sublime Radiant Powder. The bottle is fashioned beautifully, not unlike a perfume bottle, and when squeezed, emits a soft, shimmery powder that can be used on the face, body and even hair. It comes with a detachable butterfly pin that can be used as a brooch! More suited for late-night glamour instead of daytime use. This is on my wishlist...

Next, we have the Meteorites Powder Pearls, encased in a lilac tin. These powder pearls are a mix of four colours; beige, pink, white and gold. Brush the powder lightly over your face to illuminate your skin and give it shimmer and light. Also comes in a pressed powder compact. Yummo!

Then we have the Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara in Butterfly Sparkle. One end is a larger brush that applies a volumising and legthening black coat, while the other end is a smaller brush that adds a splash of sparkly violet. Engraved with a butterfly motif on one end, the word 'Guerlain' on the other. Very classy (:

One of Guerlain's most famous products, the KissKiss lipgloss, is also in the Midnight Butterfly Range. It comes in Shimmering Pink and Shimmering Purple; two deliciously iridescent shades that are sure to please. The bottle itself is capped with a lilac block, adorned with a butterfly (or rather half) on each side. I want :D

The KissKiss lipstick is next on our list of mouthwatering makeup items from Guerlain's new range. It is available in two shades: Sparkling White and Strawberry Red. I honestly don't understand the logic of white lipstick. Apparently it's a shimmery, sheer, pearly lipstick that doesn't provide fully solid colour, but why? comes in a mauve-coloured twist-up tube and is decorated with a butterfly. ...White lipstick, anyone?

Finally, we have the Mysterious Butterfly Eyeshadow Palette, which includes four light, shimmery shades and two differently shaped applicators. Each eyeshadow is embossed with a white butterfly wing, making up a whole butterfly when put together. The four shades can be worn alone, or blended together. Mmm...

Unfortunately, these items aren't so fashionably priced, with the cheapest, the KissKiss gloss, being US$28, which is about AUD$43. Boohoo. Oh well, didn't expect much.

have fun! ann. xxx

Lately, in Celeb-land a new trend has arisen (< ---correct grammar?). , which I am calling the "Moss Ball". Personally, I really dislike it, but who knows, meybee in a month or two, I myself will be lusting over my very own ball of moss (:

edit: lol. I have even found a matching pair of moss ball shoes by Kate Spade. Aren't they positively piliferous?

fashionably neutral :D

have you noticed? neutrals are dominating the accessories department, especially sophisticated combinations like beige and black. look around; this season's shoes are rarely brightly coloured, their makers instead opting or a clean, smart look with delicious and adaptable neutral tones. bags are also flicking the fluoros and bringing in the achromatics.

some delish wooden prada platforms, with stressed paint for effect. lack of colour galore! love the chunky heel look :D
nice and simple wedges from Christian Lacroix. funny plaid base ^^

beige fabric and black leather chain strap bag from zac posen. yummo ;)

again, loving the chunky heels. the awesome combo of black and beige in the tights are pretty innovative.

have fun :D

To shred, or not to shred?

well, thats not really the question at hand, but oh well, it seemed like a good post title at the time.

just a follow up on my currently non - existent shredded tee. Hmm, I should explain. It all began that fateful day (overrated much??) when i read rumi's blog and heard about this shredded shirt, origninally by this lady, but ingeniously figured out by this lady (camille of childhood flames). It sounds confusing, but it will all click together soon!

so anydoodle, i stole my dad's basic white tee, and will be attempting to recreate ultimate shredded glory as soon as I have time.

Shredded is the new black?

camille's white shredded tee
Rumi's shredded tee in army green

i luv harajuku xD

expanding on helen's previous harajaku post, aren't we all loving harajaku lovers at the moment? they're really cute bottles and are a mix of fruity florals. yummay =).
they were created by Gwen Stefani, who was inspired by harajaku style, tokyo region of mix & match, anything goes. it's eye catching, bright and supposed to reflect your personality. the different scents are love, lil angel, g, music and baby so take your pick! XD $60 at myer/david jones. express yourself (: i want one!! <333>

your very own guide to being a: recessionista

unfortunately (?), with the financial crunch and all that crap, recessionista is the new black.

we all want the new black right?

then you can follow these easy, idiot-proof suggestions! *gasp!*

* Second hand- op shops, Vinnies, vintage outlets, you name it get your hands on some pre-loved!
* Renting- i know it sounds random but why buy when you can hire? has designer handbags, shoes, sunnies and more that make great eye candy.
* Reinvention- pull out that nice dress and top up on accessories or heels instead of a whole new outfit.
* Swapping- swap parties make great fun :]
* Tone it down- save all that Clinique foundation ><>
*DIY handbag- this is the new Katie Holmes 'it' bag. check out, plenty of inspiration.

OR you could always just buy one pair of Louboutins instead of three ^^ ezy peazy.

Unfortunately the designers don't really get the rules. Fancy a $53,000 something Jean Paul Gaultier fur coat?

credit crunch chic indeed

Election Day Fashions

well we all know the new president is Obama (YES ^^). yeah its all good and all but what i was really excited by was what all those celebs were gonna wear on this very important occasion (:

Hils looking very stylish in her mustard yellow blouse and high-waisted black skirt. Love this colour combo with the mustardy-yellowishness from her blouse and the bright red she is sporting on her lips. & love her hair like this

= bright pops of clashing colours teamed with black

Haydn P. teaming a basics with a trilby and matching purple oversized bag and scarf. Trying to go incognito, but alas, the paparazzi are just too good.

=wardrobe basics with eye-catching accesories for a chic but casual look

And finally, to finish off our trio of election day looks, one of my faves, Ms Bilson in an LBD, black tights and oriental blue flats and her favourite fringed bag (also seen in this post). Prolly would've looked quite drab on anyone else, but rachel still looks fabb in it. This girl never ceases to amaze me.

= classic pieces updated with this seasons hottest accesories

Notice the boootiful 'I VOted' sticker :)

yes, i recently found out that such a thing as a hatinator exists. it's basically smaller than a hat, but larger than a fascinator. as lincraft puts it in their new how-to magazine, 'it is generally made of components such as a combination of fascinator bases, sitting on top of each other, curled and shaped to make an interesting base, before flowers and/or feathers are added.' teehee.

so there you have it. hatinators have come into existence. :D

annn xox

p.s. if you bothered to look at our post times, you would notice that they are in the middle of the night. so no, we're not insomniacs. we just live in oz ^^

melbourne cup (:

woohoo, place your bets and raise the fashion stakes, because today was the melbourne cup!

yet again, you should know that ;)

it was a fine photo finish, with 'viewed' just taking it out with an ecstatic bart cummings now with the golden dozen.

it was very chilly but it didn't stop all those hats, fascinators and frocks:

Kirsty MacGillivray- winner of Fashion in the Fields. what do you think?

Woah wacky! o_O the beauty of the races eh?

Fascinating fascinator xP

Sweet as floral (:

Fancy frocks much? :L anything goes.

And finally- you've got to give it to this punter. stepping out of a Dr. Seuss book and all.
